Application Usage

What's in the box: Everything you need for salon-quality results at home, no appointment necessary. Each Herbatint kit is designed to make colouring simple, effective, and mess-free.

  • 1x Bottle of Herbatint 5N Permanent Hair Colour Gel (60ml)
  • 1x Bottle of Developer (60ml)
  • 1x Sample Bottle of Royal Conditioner (50ml)
  • 1x Pair of Application Gloves
  • Instructions can be found printed on the inside of the box to reduce waste

Additional items you’ll need that aren’t included: Tint brush, Measuring cup, Mixing bowl, Cape or Old towel.

How to use:

First time colouring? Don’t stress. We’ve made it easy to achieve the perfect results from the comfort of your own home.

Quick Start for previously coloured hair:

  1. Mix equal parts colour gel and developer in a plastic or glass bowl (never metal).
  2. Blend until you get a smooth gel texture.
  3. Apply to dry, unwashed hair onto the regrowth only.
  4. Leave on for 30 minutes — then apply to remaining length of hair.
  5. Process for a further 10 minutes, 40 minutes processing time total.
  6. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Tip your head back to avoid getting colour in your eyes.
  7. Shampoo with Herbatint Colour Safe Shampoo. Available to purchase here.
  8. Condition with Royal Cream Conditioner. Leave in for 5 minutes, then rinse.

  1. Mix equal parts colour gel and developer in a plastic or glass bowl (never metal).
  2. Blend until you get a smooth gel texture. Apply to dry, unwashed hair, starting at the roots.
  3. Leave on for 40 minutes — this is essential! Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  4. Tip your head back to avoid getting colour in your eyes.
  5. Shampoo with Herbatint Colour Safe Shampoo. Available to purchase here.
  6. Condition with Royal Cream Conditioner. Leave in for 5 minutes, then rinse.

Pro Tip: The bottles are resealable, so any unused unmixed product can be saved for next time. Just don’t mix more than you need. Detailed instructions also included in the box.
